The Montreal Accord
Out of the Fires of the Fourth Sabbat Civil War and birthed from its ashes, comes this Accord. The young of the Sword of Caine have clamored for an end to this bloody conflict. Your leaders have heard you. With this, on the night of May Seventh of the year of Two Thousand and Fifteen, all Factions of the Sabbat gathered in our holy city of Montreal for a cessation of hostilities among all True Sabbat. With this gathering of the Ecumenical Council, all sides have agreed to following terms to end this civil war. As before in our past, this document is binding to all sides and true members of the Sword of Caine. All those who choose not to accept this accord and thus end this Civil War are not True members of the Sword Caine. Hence forth, the following shall be known as the Montreal Accord. May this Accord be as forever lasting in its addition to the Sword of Caine as the Code of Milan and Purchase Pact and see an end to our infighting. This document does not replace or remove all agreed upon holy documents of the Sabbat. It is but another evolution and addition to the Sword of Caine. The Montreal Accord is as follows:
i. The Sabbat hereby recognizes that it is a collective of various Factions and ideologies that make the body of the Sword of Caine. As such, all true and loyal Sabbat shall only belong to one such body of a single faction. None may declare themselves to be of more than one Sabbat faction.
ii. The Sabbat hereby recognizes the positions of the Apostles of Caine. These Cainites are three appointed Sabbat members by the Regent whom serve as a Tribunal over the entire Sabbat as needed. Should the Regent be removed, the Apostles of Caine assume effective power as Regent until such time as a new Regent is appointed by Ecumenical Council. The Regent may not be challenged unless approved by the Apostles of Caine.
iii. The Sabbat recognizes that the Roads of Enlightenment of old were created by the Antediluvians and such are considered Heresy in the Sabbat.
iv. The Sabbat recognizes that the art of Diabolism is no different from Infernalism, and thus is also heresy.
v. While the Sabbat encourages and recognizes converts to the sect, all those that do so are considered Probationary Members of the Sword of Caine until such time as decided upon by a Bishop or higher who resides in their diocese.
vi. The Sabbat recognizes the Silence of the Blood as a Law of Caine.
vii. All Sabbat territory is the domain of Caine.
viii. Sabbat Clergy approved by the Consistory have the right to review Ignoblis Ritae for validity for use in the Sword of Caine and to be recognized as such.
ix. The Auctoritas Ritae of Palla Grande, Festivo de Estinto, and The Binding are hereby grouped into one Auctoritas Ritae known as The High Holidays. The Ignoblis Ritae of Contrition and Allegiance are hereby elevated to Auctoritas Ritae.
x. The Sabbat recognizes the following Antitribu clans as Full Clans as members of the Sabbat: The Assamites, the Ravnos, and the Brujah. They shall no longer be known as Antitribu within the Sword of Caine. Those not of the Sabbat shall be known as the Antitribu of those clans.
