Overview Past Era Born in Prague in the 2nd Century, Ecaterina was the childe of Marhuel and grandchilde to Dominic. Active among the Prometheans, the young Brujah was a firebrand among Old World Cainites, pushing for a more egalitarian society during the Dark Ages even as she often met with failure due to the feudal instincts of the mortal and Cainite society. When the Anarch Revolt began, Ecaterina sided and joined with the Anarchs. Seeing that the Camarilla was but a return to the status quo, she also joined the nascent Sabbat and later immigrated to the New World in search of territory outside the influence of tyrannical elders. She setlled in New Amsterdam, what would now be New York City, and created there a stronghold for the Sabbat. Recognized for her efforts, she was made Bishop of the city early on (c. 1661), the first Bishop of the city and would remain so for several centuries. Nevertheless, after former Bishop Radu of Bistri left the city for other Sabbat territories, Ecaterina was not made Archbishop as everyone had expected. Instead, newcomer Francisco Domingo de Polonia was raised to Archbishop above her, a slight that rankled badly for the woman who had spent years upon years of her unlife devoted to keeping New York a Sabbat domain and fighting back the influence of Elders. Current Era Despite long held hostilities between Ecaterina and Polonia, the now-Cardinal of the region lifted Ecaterina to the title of Archbishop in 2008. Since then, Ecaterina, a member of the Status Quo and still holding her Promethean beliefs, has been the glue keeping the city together. In 2015, she rose even further to the position of Priscus of the city and continues her service to the city, a city she has watched over since the beginning. She holds, above all else, the ideals of the old Sabbat order, of a society based on equality and freedom. Lineage Grandsire: Dominic Sire: Marhuel Description Error creating thumbnail: File missing Physical Appearance: Ecaterina was once a beautiful young woman in life, mid-teens at her embrace, with long chestnut brown hair and a steady green-eyed gaze. However, due to unfortunate events (which she will not speak of), she covers the lower half of her face, either by a fashionable veil or scarf, which obscures an injury that could not be healed at the time. Still, she holds herself with immeasurable grace, if not a bit of haughtiness, which hides her otherwise gangly appearance. History First Bishop of the city, Ecaterina is one of the first Cainites to have called New York home and was made Bishop around 1661. In 2008, Ecaterina's once rival, Cardinal Polonia, appointed the Brujah antitribu as Archbishop of New York City. To reward Ecaterina for her years of service to both the city and the sect, Ecaterina was raised to the rank of Priscus in 2016.
