While on the surface the Cities Supernaturals rejoice and breath a sigh of relief as things return to “normal”. In the shadows of this void, two forces move to fill the new gap left by the ancient.

			Fundamentally there are two concepts and philosophies that are fundamental to the world. The concepts of Order and Chaos. Order believes that only through obedience and structure does one progress. Chaos, on the other hand, argue that only through conflict and violence can a culture progresses. The forces of Order and Chaos have fought in balance of each other since time has been recorded. In truth, both are required and a balance needed. What does this core concept have to do with New York City?

With the acts of the Tremere Vern Clovis, the Corpse of the Eldest awoke and broke free into he streets of Manhattan. What certainly would have started Gehenna itself, as the massive Cathedral of Flesh and its horrors poured like a wave into the city, was stopped. If only for a small time. The cities ever watchful Technocracy stepped in. Using their potent magics and preparation for this danger, they created a mirror copy of New York City. A new realm just off to the side of the real world. In this, the Last City, the corpse of Eldest has been contained. The mortal world blissfully unaware of the apocalypse awaiting them. Now, the vampires of New York have a year before this spell fades. The Corpse of the Eldest is pressing ever against the barrier to finally break free. Should the Vampires of New York fail in finding some way to end the threat of the Eldest once and for all, the city will fall and Gehenna will begin for the whole of the world, not just New York. 			With his escape from Final Death, and finally survivor of the Cults of Tzimisce, the Tremere
			Vern Clovis rises to new place and plan. The mad Tremere seeks to gain his own godhood, but
			learned he was unable to steal the Seed of the Eldest for himself. However, for his loyal service
			for aiding the Eldest’s Nightmares being awakened; Vern was given new knowledge. He learned
			of the connected vortex of souls in the shadowlands. A place in the lands of the dead that houses
			thousands of bound souls to the Eldest. Gifted with this knowledge; Vern devised a new plan for
			godhood. He would steal these thousands of bound souls for himself. With the power of a
			thousand souls he would rise to the power of a true god.

			To channel these souls into himself; Vern would need to construct such a building would take
			decades of work. Time, Vern does not believe he has. Using his advantage of pull over the
			mortal world; Vern has taken residence in the One World Trade Building. In the shadows he
			works to convert the building into a giant magnet and channeling force for the souls he needs.
			He cannot do this alone however. Using his skills as a cloner, Vern has been creating the
			servants he needs. Using the remains of dead Tremere, Gargoyles, and Camarilla of New York
			he is slowly constructing his own mockery of the Tremere Pyramid; with himself at the top.
			Dubbed the Black Pyramid, the group works to secretly convert the skyscraper into their
			mystical needs. To the normal mortal world, the One World Trade tower works and functions as
			normal. The mortals ignorant of what is going on. Using the secrets of the Chantry of the Five
			Boroughs he stole; Vern has a created a labyrinth within the tower hidden from mortal eyes.
			Only if one takes the right doors and paths in the One World Trade Tower can they hope to
			access the other side.

			Vern can only succeed if his secret is kept safe. The arcane construction will take time. He
			knows by agitating the Sabbat they will raid his tower and put an end to all his work. As such he
			seeks to keep this secret plan safe for as long as possible. The Black Pyramid works in the
			shadows; until their project is complete. Once done, Vern will ascend the tower to perform the
			final ritual. To devour thousands of souls and become the god he was destined to be.
